The sixth batch of Chinese peacekeepers in Sudan has been awarded by the UN-African Union Mission in Darfur.
All 315 peacekeepers in the region were commended with the Peace Medal of Honor. China’s peacekeeping forces also won the “Special Contribution Award”. These two awards are among the highest honors given by the UN.
Since the sixth batch of peacekeepers was stationed in the area 6 months ago, they have completed around 30 projects, including the construction of Nyala airport and the China-Sudan friendship elementary school.
