Chinese netizens are “proud” of their lack of hygiene and are crowing after learning that 139 Japanese high school students fell sick following a trip to China.
Upon returning to Japan, after visiting Shanghai and Suzhou, nearly 40% of the 357 Japanese students reported diarrhea, fever and other symptoms.
Japan’s local health department believes the students may be suffering from an infectious gastroenteritis.
One student has already been determined to have the norovirus, but the infection has not spread to the family of the student or his classmates.
