Hey baby, it’s been a while.

Hey baby, it’s been a while.

Good morning netizens.. to those of you who didn’t unsubscribe during the forever months I wasn’t writing, anyway. A quick shout: I’m gonna take another stab at this thing here they call “blogging”. It isn’t so hard at first mind you.. but then, the beginning of a marathon isn’t so hard either.

Marathon, as seen by falling man.

It feels weird, writing again after all this time, in truth. I’ve been busy getting busy that I thought to leave this behind, writing was just a way to get new business – a means to an end so to speak; and with the ends achieved, the means no longer necessary.

I began as a writer, built a business based on writing, and so a writer I shall stay, regardless if I’m writing insightful articles later published in the world’s most popular magazines, or if I’m writing a pile of drivel… which you’ll discover, in retrospect, a clear example of once you’ve finished reading this article.

In the Interim.

Building a boutique social media business certainly does fill one’s schedule; thankfully the gods of luck, chance, and praying-for-a-miracle saw fit to bestow upon me a working business model and the blinded balls to make it run; all I had to sacrifice upon their divine altar was 1. my social life, 2. my ability to be ashamed of my actions, 3. my original hairline.

So what’d I get? Well, my company Resonance is growing toward our intended 40+ people by end of year (we’re at 30+ now), and we’ve moved into a sweet new office space that I’m pretty happy with, especially considering the first office was my extra bedroom in an apartment I could barely afford.

Hey baby, it’s been a while.

Big ideas require high ceilings.

Not too shabby except for the fact that I created several competitors along the way, some of which were my previous partners. Its fitting; this China advertising blog spun off a few copycats, as now so has my real-world business. While it sucks to get copied, it does remind me to move along to the next step; cause why fight for old pastures, when you can discover new fields untouched? Why copy when you can create? Why ask stupid rhetorical questions when you could just get to the point already?

Screwing Schooling Myself.

Anyway, I thankfully managed to learn a few things in the interim, and now when I post I’ll have a good idea of what I’m talking about… whereas previously I was mostly just guessing (haha.. sorry!).

So stay tuned, and if the energy of your interest can overcome your click resistance, then follow Littleredbook on Twitter or Linkedin; or follow my company Resonance on Linkedin, Facebook, Google+ and Weibo. You’ll be glad you did… or maybe you’ll be “neutral” you did… OK – you’ll be somewhere between “glad” and “neutral”… well whatever you end up being, one thing is clear: my sales pitch needs some work.

“Return to blogging” checklist:

  • Small talk introduction… check.
  • Stupid joke(s)… check.
  • Database opt-in call-to-action… check.

Hmm… OK. Seems about right.

Let’s go kick some ass.
