VW’s love for compact cars is on par with the Chinese love for rice, the German company has already produced the Polo sedan and has the last gen Jetta and Santana on the market as well as the Lavida and Bora, but that is not enough to satisfy Chinese demand so VW are planning to introduce the Skoda Rapid, Jetta NF, and Santana NF all at the same time. Clearly internal competition is not an issue at VW.
The Jetta NF will be finally replacing the outgoing Santana which has been on the market for seemingly forever, the new NF is actually a smart looking vehicle despite its eventual position as an economy wagon and taxi hauler. An official outing for the car has not yet been announced, but we can expect it at the Guangzhou or Chengdu Auto Show if we are lucky.
